Hanna had her first play about two weeks ago. The kids in her class put on this little skit about the importance of eating healthy. Hanna was the Strawberry. The class worked on this little routine for about a month. She would come home and sing a little each day. The songs were one that once you hear it, you couldn't get it out of your head. She sang it so much that Kate started picking up the words (oh joy)!!! For 14 days (which felt like 14 years) I had to hear these songs every morning while we were all in the bathroom brushing our hair. I found myself singing these songs in my head at work, with clients and driving home.....

Sorry the last few postings have not come out right... This is all a work in progress

Party Animals

The girls celebrated the last day of school at a friend's house party. I broke down and allowed them to stay the night. They got to enjoy themselves and apparently stayed up until 2 am.......This is what they looked like at 5:30 PM
Real party animals.
Kate was suppose to have her last t-ball game (hence the Mets t-shirt) but instead she chose to have a meltdown on the field and then pass out when we got home.

School's OUT!!!

Today was the last day of school. I have attached their "first day" of school picture along with the last day. When I put the pictures side by side I had to laugh because they looked more refreshed on the first day compared to the last.

After school they will be heading to an "end of the year" pool party and then tomorrow starts their summer.

Next year Hanna will be starting 3rd grade and Kate will be in 1st grade. They are growing up so quick.

Allowance

Hanna came to me earlier this week and asked if she could get an allowance. I told her that I would consider it but that we needed to sit down and talk about her chores. That was the last I heard anything on the subject. This morning she came to me and said "can I get my allowance money?" After I told her that she needed to do some work around the house before getting any money she got the "deer caught in the headlight look"..... We had a moment of massive confusion.....

After school she mentioned getting an allowance to Kate and Hanna asked Kate if she wanted to do chores for money........ in true fashoin Kate says, "that sounds stupid".... "you can just share your money with me"...... and then they just switched to a new subject.

These two make me laugh sometimes!!!!

Hanna created a book that will be held in the school library until she reaches the 5th grade. The book consist of stories about Hanna now at the age of 8 years. When she reaches 5 th grade she will be able to look back and view baby pictures, family pictures and read about goals she came up with as an 8 year old. Hanna put a lot of time and energy into creating this special book! So, next time you talk to her make sure you bring up "the book"!!!!

Friendship...

Memorial Day Weekend Fun

She may float but she can only see out of one eye.. :) Kate loves to be in the water swimming so CooCoo was lucky to even get her to sit still and put the googles on so I would not be surprised if Kate enjoyed the whole day imitating "One Eye Willy"

Kate's a safety girl.

She's enjoys the water but the best part for her is sunbathing....

poor girl... she has my two front teeth. It took me years and I mean years to grow into those teeth.

My little adult.... can you believe how big she is....?

Switch Psychology

I am sure you are thinking this posting is going to be about how I am using "switch psychology" on the girls but you're WRONG!!! I spent years in college and houndreds of hours perfecting my understanding of human interaction and manipulation. Kate has spent 5 years with me and now has the "switch psychology" method mastered.

The other day Kate punched sissy in the face and if you ask her why she always says "it was an accident" but the true story is.... Hanna took something away from Kate so in Kate's mind a fistful in the eye was a reasonable response...GOOD TIMES in our house!! As Kate's punishment I told her, "when you get home after school, you'll be going straight to your room therefore, no playing outside with your friends". I thought that was reasonable..... Well, I was quickly met with " ok MOM, I think I'm going to be tired after school anyway, so do you want me to stay in my room until bath time".....

or

she'll offer her own punshment. The other day I walked into her room and it smelled like I walked into Bath and Body works. I asked her what the smell was and she says... "I can't tell you, you're going to be mad at me". Apparently, she found one of my body sprays and decided to dump the whole bottle on her toys in the closet. Once I figured all this out, she informs me that a fair punshment would be not being allowed to watch t.v for the rest of the night. Oh, did I forget to tell you that this all took place around 7:20 pm and her bed time's 7:30 pm......

CooCoo

I would like to introduce you to CooCoo. The girls love my sister. If asked "who's your favorite person"... without a second thought the girls will say CooCoo. She's a kid at heart and the girls know that. They are able to have fun, learn responsibility and eat a LOT of ice cream when they're with CooCoo. She's the only one that can travel with the girls and listen to disney music the whole way....

I joke with CooCoo because the girls also pick up unfavorable traits from her. (Nothing major but just little enough that it drives me nuts) CooCoo never ties or unties her shoes so nor does the girls. Kate knows that when she's with CooCoo she's getting gum... Yes, I said gum... that kids going to have it in her hair but it does not matter because when she's with CooCoo she gets gum. The girls know that if they are staying the night at CooCoo's house, there's a 90% chance thier getting ICE CREAM...... (just to name a few)

They are lucky to have an Aunt that they get to share special moments with........ It's little things like that, that they will remember when their older.

Amazed!!!

I am amazed at the mother's that seem to have it all together. Their kids look great all the time, the kids are active in everything under the sun and dinner's on the table at a decent time. THAT IS NOT ME!!! Tonight I had to be in two places at once due to the girl's practice schedule. I thought that I was handling it very well but I had a rude awaking when on the way to Kate's gymnastic practice she informs me, in the most gentle way she knows how... "Mom, your not very good at getting me to practice on time"... You got to love kids her age.... they are just so CUTE!!! and an ego buster.
